Coach Paul has been with the Plumas Rapids Swim Team since 2010. Before taking over as head coach he was an assistant for three years. For Coach Paul nothing is more satisfying than helping young swimmers find joy, health, and mental strength through their commitment to the sport. When not coaching or perfecting his own strokes in the pool, Paul teaches political science and sociology at Feather River College, raises his two sons with his wife Katie, and thinks about baseball, music, and good books.

Coach Courtney joined the team as an assistant coach in 2026. Originally from Quincy, Courtney swam on the team between 1999-2009. She also swam for 4 years while attending Whittier College. Prior to coaching, Courtney managed international education programs at multiple universities. When not at the pool, Courtney is usually traveling, at a museum, or spending time with family and friends.
